Position Summary: The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for providing business resources and services to the Hillsboro’s business community with a specific focus on Latino entrepreneurs. The position is responsible for thorough knowledge regarding the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, its mission and strategic objectives, programs, value proposition and be able to accurately verbalize these with the local business community. The Business Development Coordinator must have the ability to foster relationships, build rapport and earn trust with stakeholders in the community, use professional communication and practices, record and track activities, and coordinate and market multiple programs and events, and represent the Hillsboro Chamber at various functions sometimes outside of regular work hours.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Learn working knowledge of the Hillsboro Chamber’s programs and committees, mission and strategic objectives and be able to use this information in providing outreach and support efforts.
• Possess business development experience including start-up, growth, and expansion.
• Have expertise in business and financial planning, counseling, and understanding of small business and microenterprise issues and concerns.
• Coordinate logistics and marketing of monthly Chamber workshops and networking events and recruit participants from the Latino business community
• Manage multiple partnerships with various service providers and economic development practitioners
• Create letters, e-mail and marketing campaigns, press releases and other forms of communication.
• Record and track all client contacts, data activities and interactions to produce regular reports for the President and VP of Business Development.
• Represents the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce in a professional and ethical manner at all times adhering to all local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
• Responsible for representing the Chamber at various functions, both during and after hours when needed.
• Ability to drive and have own vehicle. Able to provide proof of acceptable insurance coverage.
Qualifications Include:
• Fluency in speaking English and Spanish; proficiency in writing and reading Spanish desired
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis in Word, Excel and Publisher
• Familiarity with using computer programs, office machinery, technology and social media
• Experience with email marketing and survey tools such as Constant Contact
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Event planning experience a plus
• Sincere desire to engage and assist the Latino community

Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 lbs
Education and/or Experience:
College Senior/Graduate student in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or Community Relations
GPA 3.0 or above
Attire:
General business attire; formal business attire as appropriate/requested
