Property tax information

Tax statements are mailed no later than October 25. Payments are due November 15. If payment is made in full at that time, there will be a 3% discount. If not paid in full, you will be billed with a trimester system. Please call the Washington County Tax Assessor at 503-846-8801.

Voter registration

To vote you must be registered 21 days prior to an election. You must be 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen. You can pick up a registration form at any US Post Office, Libraries, Dept of Motor Vehicle (DMV), or download one from http://www.sos.state.or.us/elections/votreg/sel500.pdf. or http://www.co.washington.or.us. School registration

Pet registration

If you are moving into Oregon, you have 30 days to license your dog. Cats or other types of domestic animals do not require a license. All dogs are required to have a rabies shot. Licensing can be done at the Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter at 1901 SE 24th Ave in Hillsboro (97123). For further information, call 503-846-7041.

Drivers License and Vehicle License Plates

You must obtain an Oregon driver's license and license all vehicles when you become a resident of the state. You may obtain a license at the Motor Vehicle Division, 1300 S.W. Oak, Hillsboro. For more information, call the Motor Vehicle Division at 503-299-9999.

Boat registration

All motorized boats, regardless of length or type, must be registered in Oregon. Sailboats 12 feet or longer must also be registered. Registration and title fees and marine fuel taxes support boating facilities, marine law enforcement and boating safety education. Call 503-378-8587 for more information.
